I’m really excited to share with you that I’m going to be one of the instructors participating in an amazing year-long art course called “Paint Your Heart and Soul 2019”.
This is my first time participating in this amazing course and I was thrilled to hear what we’ll be teaching this year. As you may know, I’m a big advocate of learning academic art skills to support your creative projects. I also love working in an expressive and loose style and this year we’ll be combining both! How amazing does it sound to combine color theory, values scales and proportions, with original mark making techniques to get that expressive look?
This course is hosted by Olga Furman and is a collaboration of many international artists. All of us are very excited to share our knowledge and tips and tricks with creative people like YOU. The course includes over 50 downloadable video lessons and PDF documents, which will be provided weekly, starting January 2019. Artist instructors will share their unique creative process with students, from start to finish, including a list of art supplies they use.
We will also have a closed FB group where students are encouraged to share their progress, receive support and meet likeminded friends. This is a very friendly and inviting environment. Being a part of the art community has a tremendous positive effect and makes the learning process even more exciting!
This course is designed for individuals of all skill levels, ranging from a total beginner (no previous experience in drawing/painting is required prior this course) to an experienced artist!
In this course I’m going to provide two lessons: One portrait using acrylic paint, where we will focus on different techniques to create facial features and get unique marks. I will also guide you in applying values to get an expressive, contemporary look but still maintain accuracy. In my second lesson we will create a portrait from a different angle, with paint and dry media. We’ll focus on quick techniques that are also very suitable for your art journal.
