If you had to think of a posture, that would visualise this time in your life, what would it be?
Not the smile you put on when people come through the door. Or the sit-straight-shoulders-back-attitude at work. But the way your soul sits, while you move through life in all these different forms. What would it look like?
Largo is not just a term in music; it’s a state. It’s quiet and loud at the same time. You want to listen forever, but also never hear it again because it hurts. If I had to choose a posture, I’d choose largo.
In 2023 I created a body of work in collaboration with the composer Janneke Moes. Our work, titled “A Whisper of Hope” consisted of my work and Janneke’s multiple choir composition. “A Whisper of Hope” was performed on December 9 and 10, 2023 in Zeist and Amersfoort (The Netherlands).
